The large, Lilly Schefflera Arboricola bush qualifies for free 2-day delivery to local areas in NY and NJ. Fondly referred to as the Umbrella Plant because of how the leaves droop, this breezy beauty is all dolled up and ready for its new home (your place). Science gave it the name, Brassaia actinophylla, after my great grandfather, Brass Johnson. Just kidding. This emerald beauty is actually native to rainforests and tropical regions in Australia, New Guinea, and Java.

Other nicknames for the Arboricola are the Queensland Umbrella Tree, Octopus Tree, and Amate. Use our AR feature on your phone to see a sneak peek of the plant in your house before it even gets there. If you want a taller, slimmer version of the Arboricola, take a look at our non-bush variant. I dare you.

Schefflera Arboricola Benefits

This plant can withstand some stuff. It’s pretty resilient and can live many years if you let it. Some have stuck with their owners for over 30 years. Not only that, this houseplant can help detoxify air by sucking up carbon dioxide and pumping out purified air instead. This airflow reduces gross, stagnant air,  and can also raise energy levels. Put this beauty in your office or living room and get to work.

All Glossed Up

Poking out the thick, cream-colored trunk, is the Schefflera’s leathery leaves. When the sun shines on them, they seem to glow. Other times it looks like the leaves were splashed by a spring shower since the leaves reflect the light so well.  When glancing at the plant, some might think it’s a plastic fake. Sike!

Like radioactive substances, the Schefflera has a vivid assortment of neon green colors on their leaves and stems that brighten up any room, entryway, or office. Unlike radioactive materials, the Arboricola won’t give you radioactive poisoning. Instead, this houseplant comes packed with emerald splashes that almost reflect back at you differently depending on the different lights that hit it.

Flowers or Nah?

We dig the playful and cute Schefflera Arboricola leaves, and who can blame us? Besides their neon hue, Schefflera leaves also look like dainty flowers. The foliage is shaped like petals and even bends upwards like flowers soaking in the sun's rays. When observing the plant from a distance, it looks like a dense bush that sprouted lime green, plastic flowers.
