Large Chinese Evergreen 'Maria'
Commonly known as the Maria Aglaonema, this plant is one of 20 different species of Chinese Evergreens that come from Asia. The oar-shaped leaves are a light green with dark green specks that look almost accidental. Aglaonemas are tropical plants, so they love a humid environment. Set them up in almost any lighting and, so long as they're in a pot with proper drainage, they are incredibly easy to take care of and propagate.
AGLAONEMA MARIA CARE
LIGHT
Like other Aglaonemas, the Maria prefers medium, indirect light. They'll thrive in a room with bright light and away from the direct sun rays and have also been known to do well in slightly lower light conditions.
WATER
Thoroughly water your plant when you can feel that the top 2-3" of soil is dry. This is a tropical plant, so it will need high humidity - use a humidifier, a pebble tray, or mist the plant daily.
GROWTH HABITS
This plant can grow to about 3′ feet high with an equal spread when kept as a potted plant. This plant is toxic if ingested and may cause skin irritation. Keep away from pets and small children. Propagation is easy: take a look at the root systems and separate the plants with their own network of roots and repot those babies!
