Use half-strength houseplant fertilizers
Finding the right fertilizer is essential for your plants. The N-P-K-ratio is the percentage the product contains by volume of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K).
A complete fertilizer is one that contains all three nutrients. Using a complete fertilizer for all plants seems alright, but it isn’t always the best choice. Some plants only need extra phosphorus nutrients, potassium nutrients or nitrogen nutrients.
Each nutrient provides its own supplements to the plant. Nitrogen is a building block of amino acids, the plant enzymes, its DNA and chlorophyll. Sufficient levels of nitrogen stimulate plant growth and reproduction, most prominently, growth of foliage. Phosphorus is essential for photosynthesis, transferring genetic material from one generation to the next and movement of nutrients within the cells. Lastly, Potassium regulates water, aids in the photosynthesis process, serves as an activation element for plant enzymes and is necessary for building proteins.
Use half-strength, balanced houseplant fertilizer
Apply a houseplant fertilizer at half strength.
*most of our plant arrives with slow release fertilizer (those green or purple small balls) so you should wait until the next feeding season (spring or fall) to fertilize with new fertilizer. Or you risk chemical-burning your plant.
We are here to help you care for the plants
When your plant arrives, you can schedule an initial plant care session to hop on a call session and get placement advice from our plant expert. And whenever you have a plant care question, just reach out to us at Hello@pafeplants.com or (609)-968-7063!

Details About This Plant:
Commonly known as the Seltene Monstera or the Monstera Siltepecana, part f the aroid family, this fast-growing vine is native to Mexico and Central America and was discovered in 1950. With its extravagant silvery-grey leaves and contrasting deep green veins, this plant is sure to make a statement in your home! With maturity the leaves will get a deeper green and eventually have fenestrations.
Being that it's from a subtropical environment, it thrives in high humidity, warm temperatures, medium to bright indirect lightand can vine/climb up to about 5 ft. indoors. This makes them great to be potted with a trellis and put in a brightly lit room in your house! Over time this plant may lose some leaves and/or get leggy, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant's life cycle. It could also be trying to tell you it needs a change in its care routine!
Now that you're an expert with the Silver Monstera, order this plant by 7PM est to get this plant shipped out of our greenhouse in New Jersey tomorrow (if you are wondering the arrival time, check with the zipcode validator on top of the Add To Cart). Seriously, our plant shipping solution is truly protective and innovative to ensure your plants arrive safe and intact! In case you were still wondering, we WILL send out the EXACT plant that you picked out, just like that of a local nursery or garden center, except we have more and fresher plants to choose from and you can't find our PAFE fine ceramic planter options anywhere else other than our website :)
