Huge Adonidia Palm
Huge Adonidia Palm
What is an Adonidia palm?
This extravagant Adonidia palm tree, hailing from the Philippines, adds a splash of tropical flair to any room. A jolly fellow, adonidia’s full, feathery fronds are glossy and bright.
At Christmastime, he blossoms little white flowers and then sprouts red berries, as if decorating himself for the season. Everyone appreciates the effort so much that they call him Adonidia Christmas Palm, a title he relishes.
The Adonidia merrillii palm tree grows very slowly after hitting 6 feet in height (the height you’ll receive), which is a great reason to keep an Adonidia palm indoors.
How tall is the adonia palm’s height?
Our Huge Size Adonidia Palms ranges anywhere from 7ft to 10ft tall!
Adonidia palm benefits
Adonidia palms are notoriously easy to care for.
-
Not only does he decorate himself, but he also cleans himself. He discards old fronds that leave behind cool “leaf scars” (if you want a long story, just ask how he got them).
-
The Adonidia merrillii palm is fairly drought resistant, so if you forget to water him, he’ll just go on his merry way.
-
It doesn’t need much light.
-
It’s evergreen—it’s attractive all year round (and proud of it).
-
It’s 8 solid feet of air-purifying greenery! If you have allergies or pollution, this will help you breathe easy.
Is Adonidia palm the right plant for you?
It’s a gorgeous tropical statement piece, and it hovers around 6 feet for years, so it works well indoors. Adonidia needs good sun every day, so if your house is ultra shady, he might grow sad and sparse. He’s not cold hardy, but that’s one of the reasons he thrives indoors.
Care level for an Adonidia palm
The Adonidia palm is a medium difficulty big plant: If you’ve successfully kept a few plants alive but don’t want to stress, this is the level for you.
Does the Adonidia palm like sun or shade?
Adonidia insists on at least 4-6 hours of sunlight (more is fine), so you’ll have to let him live by a south or west window. If he doesn’t get enough light, he’ll have fewer fronds with fewer leaves. He needs his moment in the sun if you want him to put in the effort to look beautiful.

How often does the Adonidia palm need to be watered?
Give him about an inch of water per week. Just kidding, water him when the first 3-4 inches of the soil is dry across a few spots of the soil, water him for a continuous 2-3 minutes. He can’t swim, so drainage is a must.
Does Adonidia palm have any special requirements?
Yes, the big Adonidia palm needs palm-specific fertilizer twice in the growing season (once in spring, once in summer).
He doesn’t like swimming, but he does like humidity. He says it feels like the air is giving him a cozy hug. If you live somewhere dry, spritz him often to show that you care.
Is Adonidia palm safe for pets?
Yes, Adonidia is non-toxic! He’ll make friends with your pet hamster before you can say “adonidia merrillii” five times fast.
