Searching for a strikingly unique plant? Look no further! Scientifically known as the Dizgotheca elegantissima, this houseplant is also fondly referred to as the ‘Spider Aralia’ or ‘Threadleaf Aralia’, in reference to the foliage. the leaves on the False Aralia look like they've been the victim of a bored child who sat and tore out the center of each leaf. The thin, skeleton-esque leaves are reddish green and grow dense and close enough to give the full plant a busy appearance. Even though it's mostly known for its ability to relieve allergies and sinus trouble when it can efficiently purify the environment around it, the False Aralia is also a top air-purifying plant.
In the best conditions, these plants can get pretty tall, but can easily be pruned back to fit the style and size you prefer. Water when the first 2-3" of soil feels dry, stopping only when the excess liquid drains from the bottom of the planter.
